Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
With three days to spare, I completed the first draft of my novel “Come and Take It” with 50,901 words (although the official count on the NaNoWriMo site says 50,983). I have officially “won” my first NaNoWriMo challenge.
I have learned:
- That I’m really more of a pantser than I would ever have thought – I just wrote and wrote and wrote and figured out the characters and the plot as I went along
- It’s OK to tell your husband you are writing a romance novel. He may laugh a bit, but eventually his support will shine through.
- it’s OK to write a few words one day and a slew the next. The key is to write consistently every day.
- 50,000 words isn’t all that many when you get to the end – even if it seems like an unobtainable goal in the beginning
I’m so happy I have to post my certificate here:
