Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

With three days to spare, I completed the first draft of my novel “Come and Take It” with 50,901 words (although the official count on the NaNoWriMo site says 50,983).  I have officially “won” my first NaNoWriMo challenge. I have learned: That I’m really more of a pantser than I would ever have thought – I just wrote and wrote and wrote and figured out the characters and the plot as I went along It’s OK to tell your husband you are writing a romance novel.  He may laugh a bit, but eventually his support will shine through. it’s OK to write a few words one day and a slew the next.  The key is to write consistently every day. 50,000 words isn’t all that many when you get to the end – even if it seems like an unobtainable goal in the beginning   I’m so happy I have […]

Taking the NaNoWriMo Plunge in 2015!

Well – it’s official.  I have signed up for the November, 2015 National Novel Writing Month event, aka NaNoWriMo.  During the month of November, I have committed to writing a 50,000 word novel.  Never mind that I haven’t even written a short story, play, or anything longer than an essay since college – I will be writing a novel.  Me – really!  Wish me luck!
